Announcement    For portfolio visit the photo albums on my facebook page Arran Gems - Jewellery and Art by Assja Solveiga Baumgärtner-Gaile - Step into my shop where you'll find some of the pieces I have created in my studio on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. Nature is my biggest inspiration. I have yet to encounter a day on which I haven't discovered a new pattern, texture, shape or colour when I look at the plants, the trees and the wildlife; the waves, the ripples in the sand and the rock formations or our endless and ever changing skies. While Arran is my greatest inspiration, the impressions from travelling across the British Isles and abroad come a close second. The world is just full of wonders for a creative mind.

Shop policies

All my jewellery pieces are handmade by myself and therefore are unique. Sometimes I produce a very limited number of identical or very similar objects. Since I produce all objects by myself, I can easily customise an article for you or design a jewellery piece to your liking.

If you have a shop or boutique, I am certainly prepared to produce unique pieces or even a collection for you.

Anything on etsy can be dispatched within two working days. Custom made articles and bridal jewellery will take longer, depending on the kind and number of pieces. Please, contact me.

Please, note that no items are shipped until payment is received. All payments are due upon placing of order. After completing the Checkout, please remember to proceed to pay for your purchase by clicking PayPal/Payment button.

If the order is not paid for within 5 working days the purchase will be cancelled.

Non Paypal-payments:
You can either pay by money order or through direct bank transfer. Please, inform me by e-mail so I can let you have my BIC and IBAN numbers. All bank costs will be added to your bill. Ordered items will only be sent out after the money has arrived in my bank account.

Shipping

I ship to all major countries. If you don't see your country in the listing, please contact me for the postage fee.

Proof of posting is always obtained.

As a rule, I ship to your PayPal address. Please make sure that your Etsy and PayPal addresses are correct. I do not ship to a country other than that in your PayPal address. In some circumstances I might wave this rule, but it is your responsibility to contact me about it first before purchasing.

You pay only one postage fee. No charge for any additional items. Items packed/gift-wrapped at my own discretion, so if you're particular on the subject (as when it's a gift for someone else) and you want something special, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Orders within the UK will be sent out by the next day after receiving your payment and should be with you within 3 working days at the very latest.

Deliveries within Europe should arrive within a week.

Orders to USA & Canada take from 5 working days (according to the Royal Mail website). Experience shows that they can take up to 15 days. If you live in the Far East, Australia or New Zealand, allow 1 - 3 weeks.

Please, note that I am living on a Scottish Island. Although our infrastructure works usually the same way like anywhere else in the UK, it occasionally happens that adverse weather conditions delay a shipment for a day or two which would mostly concern British and European destinations.

Additional policies and FAQs

Important note on gemstones, stones, and beads used#
I try to provide as accurate information about materials I use as I can.
However, sometimes, in the cases of (semi-)precious stones, sellers and/or the manufacturers do not fully disclose the exact origin or manufacture of stones. As a general rule, I avoid those sources, particularly when it comes to precious stones or should I ever use diamonds. There are also a lot of misleading yet accepted names for stones which sometimes also change from country to country.
My main priority is the design and the look of the piece. If you are very particular about the exact nature of the stone, please do not hesitate to ask me & I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Any semiprecious stones or crystals labelled as AAA, AA, AB etc. carry this label only when the suppliers fully disclose origin and nature of their products.

Disclaimer:
All my jewellery pieces quality pieces. They are not meant to be played with by small children. As jewellery is delicate and often utilizing precious metals and stones, it is important that it is looked after carefully.

I cannot guarantee that colors will be rendered correctly on different computer monitors. Any product dimensions supplied are for guide purposes only and are intended to give an approximate indication of size. Some of the natural materials like stones, sea glass, raw crystals or some semi-precious stones will have natural indentations and discolourations which are not a fault but a characteristic of the piece itself.

We recommend you contact us prior to placing an order on the Website if you have any questions about our products.

Some people may develop allergy, a rash or itchy reaction (especially to the Gold Plating), even if a piece of jewellery has been made with non-nickel-plated silver, with surgical steel, sterling silver, copper or even gold, and some people don't even know that they might be allergic to certain materials, so we are not to be held accountable or liable for any occurring allergies or skin reactions.

MANUFACTURING FAULTS: In the event of a manufacturing fault I will take back the item in question; in most cases I will be able to provide a repair or replacement. Refunds will not be given if the goods have been damaged by you, this includes damage caused by inadequate packaging when returning goods.

Manufacturing faults DO NOT include:
1. Chipped, cracked or broken gemstones and inclusions.
2. Broken chains.
3. General wear and tear including jewellery that has bent out of shape or oxidized (tarnished).
4. Plating or oxidized 'antique' finish that has worn off
.
Plating is a metal coating that is bonded electronically or chemically to a base metal to give a different colour or finish. In any case, please be aware that plating will eventually wear down over time, depending on use etc.
Against a small charge, I'd love to re-plate and re-plate your piece of jewellery should it become necessary.

Oxidizing is a chemical process often used to give a darker 'antique' or 'vintage' effect to metal. This finish may also wear or rub off over time.

CARE & CLEANING Respect your jewels and they will respect you! Please note that wear and tear in the course of normal use is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Jewellery is precious and you are responsible for its care.
Jewellery and crystal items are delicate and should be handled carefully. Protect it from chemicals (hair spray, perfume, nail polish remover, chlorine, detergents, lotions etc.) direct sunlight and objects that may damage or cause scratches or dents. Jewellery that is plated or with certain finishes applied may age or wear back over time. Stones and inclusions are delicate and may chip if not carefully worn. Rings and pendants may break or bend out of shape if mishandled. Crystal stones breaking from mishandling is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Sterling silver is best cleaned with a professional jewellery cleanser, read manufacturers instructions before use.

Clean plated jewellery, surgical steel and delicate gemstones with a soft cloth or mild jewellery cleanser (check before use), do not use silver polish or strong metal cleaners.

Do not swim or shower while wearing gold-plated or silver jewellery, and remove rings when washing your hands. Chlorine, salt water and fresh water can damage precious metals and gemstones by dulling or eroding them. Gold and silver are particularly susceptible to damage from chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolour them. Soapy water when bathing and showering can also leave a thin film, which makes the metal seem dull.

Do not keep jewellery in direct sunlight as prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause many gemstones to fade and lose their colour. Amethyst, rose quartz, chalcedony and smoky quartz are just some of the gemstones that can become paler from exposure to sunlight.

Keep your jewellery out of reach of children and pets, to keep your kids and animals and your jewellery safe.
